NIDO by SIMAS is one of 39 products to which the international jury of the XXVIII Premio Compasso d’Oro ADI awarded the MENZIONE D’ONORE.
The Award Ceremony was held in Milan last June 20 at the ADI Design Museum (Piazza Compasso d’Oro 1, Milan), which is also the venue for the Exhibition where it will be possible to admire the ceramic design urinal NIDO, signed by Simone Anzellini, of Simas Design Team, made in a beautiful Narcissus (shiny yellow) finish, which will remain open to the public from June 21 to September 15, 2024.
The objects awarded the Compasso d’Oro Prize and Honorable Mention, become part of the ADI Compasso d’Oro Collection by right, declared on April 22, 2004 by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities of "exceptional artistic and historical interest.”
NIDO is the urinal made of ceramic material that is elegant, functional, hygienic, with small dimensions (cm30x30xH81), easy to clean and with a reduced water consumption of only two litres, ideal for use in public spaces as well as in the home bathrooms of families with children and/or elderly people. An original and versatile urinal from every point of view, both in terms of the relationship between material, shape and colour as well as for use in a standing position and the consequent possibility of leaving the area underneath free. NIDO is available in Matt Bianco, Matt Tela, Matt Cemento, Matt Nero, Matt Antracite, Matt Moka, Matt Sabbia, and in glossy finishes Caramello (tending to powder pink), Capri (a deep shade of blue between cyan and blue), Menta (deep cool green), Narciso (energetic yellow), Rubino (deep dark red), Grafite (bright gray), glossy Bianco and Nero, in combination with the colours of the latest SIMAS collections.
Concept
"The creative idea, strongly connected to the rationality and to the geometry, in this case the triangle, as an expressive experimentation in a game of subtractions and additions, makes NIDO a unique piece of design, essential in its functionality. Accurate research of design in every one of the realization’s steps, conceives an unusual and fascinating and unusual outline, an elliptical cylinder stretched out on the wall, which following a diagonal directrix looks towards the top.
