CLD Fencing Systems to Launch Military-Grade Perimeter Detection System at IFSEC 2017

The SV5000 comprises a fully autonomous Pan, Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) Camera with wireless detection. Solar powered, it can be rapidly deployed to the world’s most remote locations around the world.

It can send instant threat detection alerts to alarm receiving centres (ARC) and send video on demand to any Android or iOS device via a dedicated app. This unique feature means that the system can sleep and save battery power until a detection occurs.

Security Vendor Comodo Hires Former Symantec Veteran To Spearhead IoT Practice

Comodo has hired Damon Kachur, a former Symantec and Verisign veteran, to lead the charge in the security company's Internet of Things strategy.

Germany to Test Face Recognition Software to Target Terrorist Suspects

Germany will start testing facial recognition software at a Berlin train station this summer to help police track down and identify terrorist suspects, criminal offenders, and other security threats.

The software will initially be tested with volunteers at Berlin’s Suedkreuz Station. If the new system proves effective, its use will not be limited to railway stations, Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said.
